Yesterday, on a Zoom call, the guy said to me, “Sorry Rick, but I’ve developed a really bad impression of Marketing Consultants over the years.”
And I know why he said this.
Over time, I have heard marketing described as “just colouring in”. And a consultant as someone who “takes your watch and then tells you what the time is.”
People rarely know everything. And even if they did, they would not have the time to do everything. If you wanted to sell your house, you wouldn’t try to do it yourself, you would go to an estate agent. If you’re looking to buy a house and need a mortgage, you speak to a mortgage adviser. You want to put an extension on your house, you contact a builder.
When it comes to marketing, it should be no different. I can offer years of expertise and an honest appraisal of your business, you may otherwise not have considered. And make sure all proposals are delivered, achieving the goals you set. I will also offer a free marketing appraisal to demonstrate the actions I would take. So there really is nothing to lose.
In fact, by the end of our call yesterday, I had convinced the guy that not all Marketing Consultants are bad and we will hopefully be working together in the near future.
So that’s Rick Rogers, “Colouring In, Watch Stealer”…… I mean, Marketing Consultant. Get in touch.
